KYNAWGJ Newsletter
June 2008

Just want to thank all members of KYNAWGJ for a great season.  We had great meets, clinics, and testings.  Thanks to everyone who made the year a great success.  This newsletter will mainly be a recap of what went on throughout the year, the next newsletter will include updates for the upcoming season, as well as info on the upcoming KY USAG/NAWGJ summer clinic.

There were several events that happened throughout the country that various members of Kentucky NAWGJ attended.  Terri and I went to the national NCAA Symposium in Minneapolis, MN.  Pat Brainer, Steve Schoenbaechler, and I went to the National USAG Congress in San Jose, CA, and many of our members attended the Region 5 mini congress in Indianapolis, IN.

The National Judges Cup was held in San Diego, CA in January.  Pat Brainer, Mamie Vetter, Monica Kennedy, and I attended and each judges several sessions.  Kentucky had the largest amount of judges represented aside from California.  Thanks to all who attended, representing Kentucky and congrats to Patty Shipman for conducting another successful National Judges Cup. The National Cup next year will be held in Florida, and there will be more info about this to come.  The National Cup is a great experience for all who attend, seeing how we all apply rules consistently across the country and judging on a four judge panel with judges from across the country.

Our Kentucky Judges Cup was also a great success.  We hosted Svetlana Boguinskaya from Russia as our special guest this year.  She was a great treat for all who attended and helped with the meet.  Wildcard Gymnastics was once again our gracious host for the meet.  The meet ran very smoothly and a great time was had by all.  Drawing winners for the meet were as follows:

NAWGJ item drawing winners:  Janet Gunderson, Angela Haagen, and Tina Bryant.  National Judges Cup drawing winners: Guy Crocetti and Angela Haagen with the alternate being Pat Brainer.  Congratulations on all winners and thanks to all who helped make the meet a success.  There will be a mailing coming to your home address with the financial report for this year and the financial report from the judges cup.
